The dedicated Quality Department spearheads Phoenix Sintered Metals’ on-going commitment to continual improvement in all powdered metal parts production operations and in responsiveness to customer needs. The Quality Department conducts thorough examinations of powdered metal components at each stage of the manufacturing process. Thanks to the Quality Department, Phoenix is proud to have earned ISO 9001:2008 certification. The Phoenix staff also regularly evaluates the production process and quality system in order to make constant improvements. In combination, these procedures enable Phoenix to uphold the highest quality standards for its powdered metal components while still maintaining competitive prices.

Powdered Metal Qaulity Assurance Laboratory

The Quality Assurance Laboratory at Phoenix includes the following capabilities:

  • M & M Gear Inspection Equipment
  • Multiple CMM’s
  • Computerized SPC & Data Collection Capability
Leco Carbon and Sulfur Analyzer

In addition to the Powdered Metal Quality Assurance Laboratory, an in-house Metallurgical Laboratory gives Phoenix Sintered Metals complete control over the quality of all powdered metal products. The Metallurgical Lab tests and analyzes the properties of metals used in the production of component parts. For complete metallographic evaluation, Phoenix’s lab uses the following equipment:

  • Leco Carbon and Sulfur Analyzer
  • Apparent and Micro-Hardness Testing
  • Physical Properties Testing (Instron)
  • Unitron Mount Microscope
  • Hitachi Video Color Scope

For additional services, Phoenix contracts an outside Metallurgical Service that meets all the requirements of International Standard “ISO/IEC 17025:2005” for testing.
