Phoenix Sintered Metals operates a multitude of presses including four 750 Ton molding and sizing presses and thirteen presses which are over 200 Ton capacity. This allows for product with a top surface area up to 25 square inches.

In terms of sintering furnaces, there are over fifteen conventional belt units capable of 700 pounds per hour. Phoenix also has high-temperature sintering capabilites up to 2400° F (1315° C) for stainless steel or high density applications. If sinter hardening is required, there are three furnaces with VariCool convection cooling units designed specifically for this application.

We also have an on-site metallurgical laboratory complete with a scanning electron microscope, tensile and compressive property testing, and carbon sulfur analyzer. The Quality Department utilizes an M & M Gear Checker, CMM, Magnaflux Crack Detection Unit and two Optical Comparators. The tool designers at Phoenix have access to our comprehensive 7,500 square foot tooling shop.

If additional equipment is required that is not found at Phoenix, we also have the ability to run product through our powder metal affiliate, Specialty Pressed Components.
