Peter C. Varischetti- President
Peter entered the powdered metal industry in 2005 with the formation of Brockway Sintered Technologies, Inc., which is owned by the Varischetti family. Peter led Brockway Sintered Technologies, through it's wholly owned subsidiary, Phoenix Sintered Metals, Inc. in the purchase of the assets of Brockway Pressed Metals, Inc. in September of 2005.
In October of 2005, Peter led Brockway Sintered Technologies, through it's wholly owned subsidiary, Kersey Sintered Metals, Inc. in the purchase of the assets of Specialty Pressed Components, Inc. Shortly thereafter in March of 2006, Peter led Phoenix through the acquisition of the assets of
Accu-Met Pressed metals, Inc. Though relatively new to the P/M industry, Peter is not a stranger to the industry, having been born and raised in Brockway, Pennsylvania, which is situated in the Powdered Metal Capital of the World.
Peter's education is in Business Administration and Psychology, having received a bachelor's degree in each from the University of Pittsburgh. Along with his P/M endeavors, Peter is also a shareholder, officer and director of Guardian LTC Management, Inc. where he oversees the management of 18 long-term care facilities covering 3 states. He is also a shareholder, director and officer of Varischetti & Sons, Inc., a waste industry consultant firm; Apple Tractor, Inc., a heavy equipment company; Guardian Long Term Care Pharmacy, Inc. and Guardian Rehabilitation Services, Inc. Additionally, Peter is a director and officer of Guardian Risk Retention Group, Inc., a Captive Insurance Company; a partner in Varischetti Real Estate Management Company; and general manager of Public Credit LLC, a commercial finance company.
Peter's interests include football, working in his yard, and spending time with his wife Sharon and children Francesca (aged 11) and Joey (aged 8), and John (aged 6 months).

L. Paul Stilwell – General Manager
Paul Stilwell holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a Major in Accounting and a Minor Concentration in Economics. He also holds a Certificate in Management Information Systems from Penn State.
In 1980, Paul formed Pyramid Cable Services, Inc., which was a very successful overhead and underground construction company that serviced the growing cable TV industry in the West and Midwest. In 1984 he sold his interest in Pyramid and started his powdered metal career at Exotic Metals (now Metaldyne), in Ridgway, PA where he was the Controller and Senior Cost Accountant.
In 1995, Paul formed Accu-Met Pressed Metals, Inc. with other shareholders and became a major shareholder and working owner. He was Accu-Met’s President and General Manager until March 1, 2006 when Accu-Met’s assets were purchased by Phoenix Sintered Metals, Inc. Paul’s philosophy was spelled out in Accu-Met’s brochure where it stated that “all of our relationships with customers and suppliers are based on honesty and trust, period.” Accu-Met’s growth over the years was due to this philosophy and their dedication to customer service.
Paul has 22 years experience in the Powder Metal industry.

Steve Cappetta- Plant Manager
Steve Cappetta holds a Tool and Die Maker certificate from Penn State and is a Pennsylvania Board Machinist. He is a Class A Die Maker.
Prior to coming to Phoenix Sintered Metals, Steve enjoyed five years as the Supervisor of the Machine Shop, two years as Production Manager, and two years as Director of Operations at Brockway Pressed Metals.
Steve has over 20 years of experience in the powder metal industry.

Frank Uhl- Director of Technical Services
Frank Uhl holds a BSME in Mechanical Engineering and several master credits in Business Administration from Penn State University. He is a licensed Professional Engineer.
Frank was previously the Chief Engineer at Brockway Glass Company, and the Vice President of Manufacturing for Brockway Pressed Metals. He has 20 years of experience in the powder metal industry.
His powder metal experience is concentrated in the following areas: material testing, automation design, part development, tool design, equipment rebuilding, process automation, automatic gauging and part inspection, and automatic data collection.

Steve Martin- Director of Operations
Steve Martin holds an Associate Degree in Applied Science from Butler County Community College. From 1977 through 1994, he held the positions of Quality Manager, Metallurgical Engineer and Product Manager of Conventional and Powder Forge Operations at Mascotech (now Metaldyne) in Ridgway, PA.
In 1995, Steve became a major stockholder in Accumet Pressed Metals, Inc., a new startup company located in Ridgway, PA. He held the positions of Vice President and Plant Manager at Accumet until March 1, 2006, when the company was purchased by Phoenix Sintered Metals. Accumet sales grew from $840,000 in 1995 to $6,200,000 in 2005 by focusing on customer satisfaction as the driving force behind the company.
Steve has over 29 years of experience in the powdered metal industry.

Steve Leuschel – Vice President,
Sales & Marketing
Steve Leuschel holds a Bachelor
of Science Degree in Finance from Indiana University of
Pennsylvania. Steve joined Phoenix Sintered Metals in the fall of
2007 but he has been involved in the Powdered Metal Industry for
over 25 years. He started his profession with a large Tier 1
Automotive Powdered Metal Company in St. Marys, PA. Throughout his
18 year career there, he held the positions of Sales Manager,
Marketing Manager, Manager of Product Pricing, Cost Accounting
Manager and he also spent time in the Management Information Systems
Department.
Steve left the Tier 1 Supplier in
early 2000 to direct the Sales & Marketing efforts for another
significant player in the powdered metal arena. There, he was able
to team up with key management personnel to significantly increase
sales for this company. Then, several years later, he joined a
smaller powdered metal supplier where they were able to double their
sales during his tenure.
According to Steve, “A company
must be extremely focused in their efforts during the pursuit of
sales growth. The management team must work together to ensure the
achievement of superior levels of “customer service and
satisfaction” while maintaining corporate profitability and employee
gratification. Phoenix Sintered Metals demonstrates those
characteristics and that is the leading factor for the success of
this company.”
In addition to his powdered metal
experience, Steve has also demonstrated other entrepreneurial
accomplishments where he had owned his own successful commercial
business and he also possesses a Real Estate License for sales
within the state of Pennsylvania. |

Dick Thorne- Director of Sales and Marketing
Dick Thorne holds a BS in Engineering from Penn College.
Dick started in the powder metal industry in 1974 with Exotic Metals, Inc (now Metaldyne) in Ridgway, PA. He was awarded the position of Quality Manager in 1978, and was later promoted to Plant Manager. He was the Quality Manager during the launch of the first powder metal forged connecting rod in the United States.
In 1990, Dick purchased Abbott Furnace Co., a $2,000,000 company. By 2001, while Dick was President/CEO, sales had grown to $15,000,000 and Abbott was the premier belt furnace company for the powder metal industry. He sold his share in the company to other management and employees in 2001.
