Phoenix Sintered Metals has compaction capabilities ranging from 30 to 825 tons. We have several presses in the 200 to 825 ton range that have multi-level capabilities. In Q2 2019, a new Osterwalder AG CNC Press was installed that will provide engineered solutions with increased part precision, higher complexities in part geometry, thus eliminating the need for machining of features that can now be formed.

We have Warm compaction capabilities utilized daily in high volume applications to increase molded density to 7.2 and greater to improve mechanical properties for multiple applications and markets.

In compaction, the selected material is pressed into a custom tooled net shape component in which the powder particles have mechanically bonded together which is the “Green State”. Advanced robotic systems have been built to ensure proper handling from compaction to Sintering.
